Problems with my graphics card I think

Hello guys,

I built a PC,
He’s experiencing some problems, like hardware errors on Windows, a lot of stuttering, sometimes the PC just stops working, and sometimes the pc work.

I’ve updated the BIOS,
I've reinstall windows 11,
I’ve changed the RAM, but the problem persists.
I also swapped the graphics card for mine, and the problem went away.

We might need to send the graphics card in for warranty, unless you have any other suggestions. He uses the PC for work and occasionally for gaming. Sometimes when he opens a game, the same problem occurs.

His configuration:

• Ryzen 5 7600x
• 32 GB RAM Lexar Thor 6000
• 2TB SSD Lexar
• Corsair SFX 750
• ASRock B650i Lightning
• Gigabyte 4070 super windforce

Thank you for your help,

Pedro Leao

Hello Grogeta,

Sorry to hear that the system is experiencing issues.
Could you verify if the monitor being used for gaming is connected to the graphics card and not to the motherboard?
1 FPS is extremely low for an RTX 4070.

Additionally, I recommend running a memory test using the MemTest86 software.
This will help rule out any issues with the RAM.

Could you also check if any pins in the processor socket are bent?
If the above steps don't resolve the issue, and the problems disappear with a different graphics card, I recommend sending the card for warranty.

Thank you for replying.

Yes, my DP is connected to my graphics card.
There are no errors on the memory test using MemTest86, and there are no bent pins on my socket.

Here are some things I have done:

  • New installation of Windows 11, using a local user directly (I bypass the login with an email; Windows installs updates automatically every time).
  • I disabled Fast Boot from my motherboard.
  • I have disabled the automatic download of manufacturer apps in system properties.
  • I installed the new version of drivers (565.90) that correct a bug with FPS drops.
  • I disabled hardware acceleration on Discord.
I have played some games and streamed on Discord with a video in the background (I had the problem when I did this before).

So far, it’s still working—no errors at the moment.

If the problem comes back, I will send my card for warranty.

Thank you very much!

Try to update Windows as much as possible, the issue may be software-related.
Also, make sure you have the chipset drivers installed, as they are essential for the proper functioning of the system.

It's good that you've checked the graphics card drivers, the problem could have been related to this.
