Informatie en updates over de NVIDIA GeForce RTX50 serie videokaarten.

Looks great! Happy for you it all ended up well.

I'm planning for a different 5090 but it's pretty much the same dimensions, since your case appears to be about 9mm wider (same for max cpu cooler height) I still think I'll have enough space in the HAF 700 EVO to fit the card horizontally.

I personally am not a huge fan of vertical mounts because it blows most of the heat directly to the motherboard, memory & the NVMe SSDs but aside of the personal preference (and well it differs per case configuration) there isn't really much with PCI-E 5.0 16x risers out there yet and apparently there are some technical difficulties with them on the 50-series which I am not sure if it's just the Founders with the ribbon cables being the culprit or all of them.

My NVMe drives are positioned next to the RAM in a DIMM.2 slot (2x 990 Pro 4TB) which currently always sit between 36-51°C ish, the RAM modules generally don't exceed 60°C in heavy load and that is with pretty modest fanspeeds.

And I've got a 10 year old Corsair AX1200i, bought Type4 600w both angled and non-angled 12v-2x6 600W cables for it (2x-8pins) and I'm just going to see how that plays out in multi-rail mode. The PSU is old but still performs flawlessly, the AXi series platforms by Flextronics were so good that they even today can't find a suitable replacement that is better hence why we still don't see Corsair ATX 3.1 PSUs in the AXi line-up.

Thermal Grizzly Wireview Pro is underway so hopefully once I can acquire a 5090 I can fit that on it with the sidepanel closed, will be kind of tight but it should fit, would be nice to see the current power draw and temps without needing software tools or overlays.

But for now the EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 will have to hold out for a bit longer, sitting at 2025/6003Mhz, extremely solid card it has been for 8 years straight.
great psu ! I had 2 but one of them died finally after like 8 years I believe. Since they come with a ridiculously long warranty but aren't produced anymore Corsair sent me a brand new 600€+ AX1600i instead in response to rma =P =P

Hey 👋
I see that today the status has changed for some Asus and MSIRTX 5090.
Did were they able to purchase today?
Please, can someone let me know. I also have to work and I don’t have to check all the time.

Received and finished installing this guy, I hope there won't be any issues with PCIe 5 like others reported. I'll be doing a lot of testing tonight.

I hope you guys can get the card that you want soon, and at normal prices.. :D
(sorry for my desk, still messy from a previous flu)

How are the temperatures of the gpu?
in this video I noticed how cool it runs compared to the founders edition. like 30 degrees cooler...

Those are some amazing cool temps on the OC. Very impressive ! I suppose this was with fans at max but it means you have a lot of headroom still to make it run quiet. very nice.

Careful with strong conclusions, the comparison is not fair. :) You can find cooling differences in the video description:

MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC (left):
Ambient temperature: 23-24°C

MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC with max OC settings (right):
Ambient temperature: 10-12°C

I get similar results to the left side in the vid, not planning to OC, ambient temperature is around 24°C, so yes, you can take this video as a nice benchmark result, seems like I don't have to post results anymore

you are right mate. Anyway I always put the fan on like 50% wich is mostly enough cooling for most games while having decent low temps. 100% is way too loud for my liking :')

100% is like a jet taking off no way i can endure that.
Scares me to like i feel the bearings of the fans are going to destroy themselves or something

Pretty much all ''modern'' cards since the 10-series have been employing dual-ball bearing fans instead of sleeve or adaptions of it like rifle bearing some brands still used prior that, they will be fine. My 1080Ti has dual-ball bearing and the fans give no hint of degradation after ten thousands of hours of operation, with plenty of times just leaving them running at 100% (3300rpm) for benchmarks.

Sure they may be a bit louder in some cases but they will generally outlive the card its useable lifetime, I would more worry about applied TIM these days.
Even if they did die you could probably source some replacements through ebay, I wouldn't RMA the card for it with my previous experience since they may just send a badly refurbished model back, may not be worth the risk.

For example the Asus 780Ti DC2OC I had with rifle-bearing fans, those didn't even last 3 years with semi-high fan speeds.
Got a replacement through CDROMLAND within two weeks but Asus sent back a badly refurbished model that was not stable at 100% powertarget resulting in black screens and 100% fan speeds needing a reboot so I bought the 1080Ti.
When it came back from RMA I had to re-adjust the fans myself because they were hitting the block due to misalignment in packaging.
The 780Ti died over a year ago finally after some screen flickering issues and more frequent crashing with lower powertarget.

shevoK did you not need to use a GPU holder for that videocard? Does it sag without it because it didn't seem like it.

Heard the Suprim has pretty excessive coil whine. Not like the FE, but quite loud apparently.
Great temps though.

I've read various people say it was bad on the FE, or the Asus, basically any brand. So I guess we'll just have to be lucky unfortunately.
But I've also read people say that the coilwhine (maybe it was 40 series?) went away after a week or so or reduced so it may not all be that bad.

On my old Asus 780Ti it was only noticed during 3DMark Ice Storm due to 1000+ framerates but otherwise not really.
The current EVGA 1080Ti here I've never heard it whine not even in 3000+ fps.
